ABOUT

Like many of my artist peers, I grew up the odd child. Fascinated by critters big and small, my wardrobe had a ‘dedicated spider spot’ where I hid those I’d find through the flat in hope of preserving them from shoes and newspapers. Media could only retain my attention with dragons, dogs, giant boars and other monsters I’d root for.My teenage years were spent playing pathfinder, VtM and other tabletops and board games every Saturday evenings under the harsh neon lights of a small room rented by the year. I got through the weeks drawing imaginary monsters and many-eyed dogs in the margin of my notes, dreaming of one day seeing my art buried in a bestiary next to the artists I admired.I evolved from the start in an environnement scarred by addiction and unaddressed mental illnesses, unknowingly struggling with similar issues until my life took a sudden turn with a series of sudden losses. Diagnosed with and treated for bipolar and schizophrenia, I use my work to explore grief, guilt, the chase for reality and the struggles of being the Other. The time not spent working or developing my personal projects revolves around the continuous learning of animal behaviour science, caring for foster cats, spending time with my dogs and loved ones or making my way through gas and projectiles as a protest medic. Long Covid and financial hardship had me leave behind my passion for diving, but a piece of me remains underwater, tainted by saltwater and the wonder for marine fauna.
